The blame game of Hurricane Katrina!!
Its been a while since I've blogged..just haven't had much time lately with this baby getting bigger and family coming to visit!! I had a nice visit this past week with my mother-in-law (who I adore), her mother, my sister-in-law, and Gavin's cousin. We spent the week relaxing and telling stories and sitting by our pool. Last Thurs we went up to the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain and had an absolute blast. That place is crazy.
I've been trying to do what I can to stay away from the TV and all this Hurricane Katrina mess... I think it's hilarious that there are people out there that think the President caused the hurricane due to his environmental policies and that people seem to think that it's his fault they didn't evacuate when they were told to. If anyone dropped the ball it was the mayor of New Orleans and the Gov of Louisiana... I wasn't aware that the president was supposed to have an evacuation plan for the states...that's the local govt's job... his job is to ok federal funding if need be... and he did that!! People were told to LEAVE New Orleans.. the mayor should have had buses AHEAD of time to transport people out if they wanted to leave... then there would be NO excuse... but instead once again the blacks in this country want to play the blame game!! Let's blame the president for not saving us..let's blame the white man b/c we're poor..let's blame everyone else for our problems and not do a damn thing to help ourselves.. it makes me SICK!!! I am sorry for the loss of so many people but I saw that hurricane churning in the gulf for DAYS before it hit... personal possessions aren't enough for me to risk my life... if I didn't have the money to take a bus out I would've walked as far as I could in the 4 days of warning ahead of time and camped on the side of the road if need be... I certainly wouldn't have sat around and waited for the levies to break and then depended on the government to rescue me... Also being a military wife it pissed me off to NO end that people wanted to know why soldiers weren't in there within hours of the storm hitting and the levies breaking.. I've got news for those MORONS... my husband doesn't sit around and wait for natural disasters to hit so he can go rescue people.. it's called a CALL UP and it takes about 18-36 hours to get manpower, equipment, and supplies... and that's about what it took... Also, if someone chooses to STAY behind during a storm why should my husband have to go and expose himself to diseased water to save others... his job is to defend this country not to save morons... it's called survival of the fittest and smartest...IF you choose to do something stupid then others should not put their lives in harms way to rescue you!! And that's all I have to say about that!!!
On a happier note- Auburn lost its first game of the season and BAMA's 2-0... hubby and I went to the FSU/Miami game in Tallahassee and had a blast! It was one of the ugliest games I've ever seen but the outcome was good with the Noles prevailing... seems like a great start to college football season... ciao for now
